ADEX attended an exclusive and intensive Corporate Day organized by the European Innovation Council (https://ec.europa.eu/research/eic/index.cfm) pilot (EIC) Business Acceleration Services, the EIC SME Instrument (https://ec.europa.eu/easme/en/EIC-sme-instrument), that took place in Hamburg (Germany) on 29 -30 January with global market leader in aeronautics AIRBUS hosting SME Instrument grantees. During the event 32 selected innovators had the opportunity to pitch and present their business cases to top Airbus managers, research and technology scouts, procurement representatives and affiliated companies. On the evening of the 29 of January a social networking event was organized in cooperation with the local Enterprise Europe Network (http://een.ec.europa.eu/), IFB Hamburg (https://www.ifbhh.de/) and business partners Hamburg Aviation (http://www.hamburg-aviation.de/en/start.html) & Hanse Aerospace (http://www.hanse-aerospace.net/en/home.html). Participants met and networked with business representatives in the areas of cybersecurity, digitalization, additive layer manufacturing, manufacturing, drones (UAV), flight control and telecommunications. On the 30th of January, participating companies pitched and networked with Airbus representatives. ADEX made a pitch (ADEX Optimized Adaptive Control for Composite Production in Aeronautics) for Manufacturing & Production Technologies and another (ADEX Optimized Adaptive Control for Flight Control Systems) for Flight Control. Airbus expressed interest to follow up with both issues. ADEX thanks to the organizers for this excellent opportunity to pitch our innovation to Airbus, to explore possible synergies with the rest of the hi-tech SME companies attending and is looking forward to exploiting the business opportunities brought forth by this event. The EIC pilot supports top-class innovators, entrepreneurs, small companies and scientists with bright ideas and the ambition to scale up internationally. It brings together the parts of Horizon 2020 that provide funding, advice and networking opportunities for those at cutting edge of innovation.
