Optimised Control of Steam Temperature in ENDESA

In News — March 24 2014

ENDESA and ADEX have reached agreement on the application of an optimised steam temperature control system for the thermal power station in Andorra (Teruel). This agreement has been reached within the context of the OPTICAL project which is aimed at improving performance of the thermodynamic cycle in both thermal and nuclear power plant. A long period of evaluation has been established in order to prove the benefits of ADEX, and this will enable extending the application to other power plants both of ENDESA and ENEL.

ADEX has previous experience of optimised adaptive steam temperature control in thermal power and combined cycle plant based on projects at ScottishPower and Bahía Bizkaia Electricidad (BBE) delivering excellent results. These results were published in October 2012 in a special edition of “Industrial Optimized Adaptive Control” of the International Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing.
