Successful completion of contract with PEMEX

In News — January 5 2009

ADEX completed the project for the optimized control of 5 sulphur recovery units in the Ing. Hector R. Lara Sosa Refinery, Monterrey, Mexico in December 2008. The objective of the contract was to significantly reduce the levels of emissions normally associated with this process and improve levels of sulphur recovery. This optimisation involved the precise control of the H2S:SO2 ratio in the tail gas as part of the Claus recovery process. Optimised control strategies were applied to plants 1, 3, 4, 5, and 5 and the improvements over the conventional control system in place were significant: 28.93%, 87.19%, 72.22%, 55.68% and 85.01% respectively. As a result of the success of this project, PEMEX plan to extend optimisation using ADEX to several other petrochemical plants.
